Happy Birthday Julia and Thank You!

by the Rev. Canon Heather L. Melton, Staff Officer for the United Thank Offering

Thank you for being on the journey with us this month to learn more about Julia Chester Emery, a saint in The Episcopal Church and an example of grit and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who threw her a birthday party. Below are some of our favorite photos, including the photo contest winners! In October, we’ll announce the Ingathering amounts for 2017 so far, and let you know how we did in special collections in September, so get those checks in before the end of the month to be counted and to compete in the contest!

Thank You from the United Thank Offering Board!

Contest Photos

Thank you to all of those who have submitted photos on Facebook, Instagram, or by email. The Board has decided to extend the deadline for submission to October 10, since many of you mentioned you had to do your celebration in October due to other parish commitments. Please submit photos! We’ll announce the winners in the October e-newsletter, and on Facebook and Instagram.

Young Adult and Seminarian Grant Applications Now Available

by Caitlyn Darnell, UTO Grant Committee Chair for Young Adult and Seminarian Grants

On September 1, the UTO Board released the Grant Focus and Criteria for the 2018 Young Adult and Seminarian Grant application process. We hope you’ll share this information with your network!

The UTO Board will continue to award up to 10 grants of $2,500 each to young adults and up to 10 grants of $2,500 each to seminarians regardless of age. The purpose of these grants is to provide start-up money for new projects. There is a separate application form for young adults and seminarians, but the deadlines, criteria, and focus are the same.
